At Northport, operations run in a high-intensity environment that is classified as a high-risk area. Given this reality, maintaining comprehensive Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards remains one of our foremost priorities. Northport is committed to ensuring a secure, resilient and conducive workplace, while nurturing a culture that prioritises safety, health and overall well-being for all employees and port users.

Guided by Northport's QHSSES Policy, we uphold a positive safety mindset in every decision and action by strong governance, enhanced safety practices and an empowered workforce - collectively driving a safe and sustainable port ecosystem.


10 Non-Compliance Rules

The following actions are strictly prohibited within the port area:

  1. Driving without a seatbelt, speeding, ignoring safety signs and using a mobile phone while driving.
  2. Failure to wear complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all operational areas.
  3. Blocking access to emergency equipment.
  4. Commencing any work without a valid Permit to Work (PTW).
  5. Unsafe load handling and standing under a suspended load.
  6. Failing to immediately report any oil, chemical or waste spill.
  7. Using an unauthorized port pass to enter the port.
  8. Smoking in non-designated areas or working under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  9. Working while fatigued or practicing poor ergonomics.
  10. Hiding information on near misses or unsafe conditions. All such incidents must be reported.
