Guided by Northport's QHSSES Policy, we uphold a positive safety mindset in every decision and action by strong governance, enhanced safety practices and an empowered workforce - collectively driving a safe and sustainable port ecosystem.
10 Non-Compliance Rules
The following actions are strictly prohibited within the port area:
- Driving without a seatbelt, speeding, ignoring safety signs and using a mobile phone while driving.
- Failure to wear complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all operational areas.
- Blocking access to emergency equipment.
- Commencing any work without a valid Permit to Work (PTW).
- Unsafe load handling and standing under a suspended load.
- Failing to immediately report any oil, chemical or waste spill.
- Using an unauthorized port pass to enter the port.
- Smoking in non-designated areas or working under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Working while fatigued or practicing poor ergonomics.
- Hiding information on near misses or unsafe conditions. All such incidents must be reported.
